This greek yogurt fruit dip is a high protein snack that takes just 5 minutes to throw together! It’s made with a few simple ingredients and has 3 different flavors to choose from and 11 grams of protein per serving!
Back with another easy high protein recipe! This simple yogurt fruit dip is my new favorite warm weather snack because it’s made with just a few simple ingredients, requires no cooking and is perfect with just about any summer fruit.
A lot of fruit dips are made of higher sugar ingredients like marshmallow fluff, but this recipe is made with a base of greek yogurt, protein powder, honey to sweeten and your choice of flavoring such as vanilla, chocolate or strawberries.
The general rule of thumb for serving fruit is 1 pound for 4 people, so keep that in mind if you’re prepping this for a crowd!
This healthy fruit dip has over 10 grams of protein per serving which makes for the perfect after school snack. It’s also great at birthday parties, with charcuterie boards, or even a healthy dessert. If you love this recipe, try my protein mug cake next!
Why you’ll love this recipe
- Over 10 grams of protein per serving
- Dairy free/vegan friendly
- Low sugar
- 3 flavor options
- Just 4 base ingredients!
Key ingredients
GREEK YOGURT. Greek yogurt makes up the base of the yogurt fruit dip since it’s high in protein and low in sugar. I just used plain/unsweetened greek yogurt, but whatever you have will work!
For a dairy free option, I like the Kite Hill Greek Style yogurt.
PROTEIN POWDER. I used a vanilla pea protein, but you can use whey if you prefer. For the vanilla and strawberry flavors, you need vanilla protein powder and then chocolate for the chocolate one!
I like one that is stevia sweetened since this recipe only has a bit of added sweetener.
HONEY. Just a touch of honey will help sweeten the fruit dip and thin it out to the perfect consistency since the protein powder thickens it up a bit.
VANILLA. Vanilla and just a small pinch of salt help round out all the flavors.
OPTIONAL ADD INS. For the strawberry version, we’ll be blending in some fresh strawberries and mixing in some strawberry jam for a really rich flavor.
How to make yogurt fruit dip
Chocolate and vanilla: For the chocolate and vanilla flavors, add all ingredients to a bowl. Whisk until completely smooth.
Taste and adjust flavors as desired. For the chocolate, you may want a bit more honey since the cocoa adds some bitterness.
Strawberry: Cut the tops of the strawberries and add to a blender with all ingredients. Blend until smooth.
Taste and adjust flavors as desired. This one will be a bit thinner in consistency than the others because of the strawberries.
Unfortunately, just the strawberry jam didn’t add a rich enough flavor, so the fresh strawberries really help!
Serve with fresh fruit (I love grapes, pineapple, apples, peaches and strawberries) or graham crackers and pretzels.
Serving suggestions
Pretzels. Any kind of pretzel will taste great with the chocolate, vanilla or strawberry fruit dip flavors.
Crackers. I kind of feel like graham crackers are more of a cookie than a cracker, but they’re delicious with fruit dip! If you want to go more of the dessert route, oreos (the gluten free ones are delicious) are so good with any of these flavors.
Fruit. My personal favorite fruits for yogurt fruit dip are strawberries, pineapple, peaches, apple and grapes since they’re easy to grab and dip.
However, all kinds of melons are great, mangos or banana. Whatever you happen to have on hand will work just fine!
How to store
Once prepared, this yogurt fruit dip will keep in the fridge for about 5 days.
I like to store each flavor separately in an air tight container to keep it as fresh as possible. Just give it a good stir before serving in case any of the ingredients separated while it sat.
I have not tried freezing this, though I do think it would hold up ok. Keep it in an air tight container and freeze for up to 2 months. Let thaw in the fridge and stir really well until creamy.
